Eva was born in St. Petersburg, Russia on January 29, 1871. She was the daughter of Johannes Jerger or Yerger and Katherine Miller. Eva's maiden name was Miller. It was during the reign of Catherine the Great, 1762 to 1796, that Eva's German ancestors were invited by the empress to settle in Russia. Eva later traveled via ship to Tampico, Mexico and then arrived in El Paso, TX via Mexican Central Railroad in May 1900. It appears that a Mr. Henry Schroeder from Russell, KS was her sponsor when she arrived in the U.S. She lived in Russell, KS from May 1900 to May 1935. She was married to John Frederick Schneider until his death. Eva was a resident of Fort Collins, CO in May 1935. On November 8, 1935 she married George Getz of Ft. Collins, CO. They lived at 417 Smith St., Ft. Collins, CO. George was originally from Russenbach, Russia. This information came from her Petition for Naturalization which was signed by Eva but not dated.
