Willard E. Brendel, 72, of 1022 N. 28th St., Sheboygan, died Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. Born Oct. 2, 1929, in the Town of Herman, Willard was a son of the late Walter and Catherine Zimmermann Brendel. On Nov. 17, 1951, he was united in marriage to Helen Block in i the Town of Herman. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in November of last year. Willard served his country in the U. S. Army and was stationed in Japan and Korea. Mr. Brendel was employed by the Kohler company for 37 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member, of the Kohler Quarter Century Club. Willard enjoyed woodworking,: making lawn ornaments ': and loved Model A Fords. Willard was , a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Helen; five children; seven grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; one brother; four, sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Verona Prange and Marian Champeau and three brothers, Roland, Harold, and Brendel Walter, Jr. Brendel. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m.," Saturday, March 23, at Lippert-Olson Funeral Home, 1 1 32 Superior Ave. The Rev. Bert Thompson, assistant pastor of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, will officiate. Relatives and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Saturday from noon until the time of service. Entombment will be in Gardens of Peace Mausoleum.
