Funeral services for SILAS MANNING, 75, Maquoketa area farmer who died Monday evening at the Jackson Co. Public Hospital, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the W.G. Carson & Son Funeral Home.
The Rev. Jack Paget, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church will officiate.
Burial will be in the Buckhorn Cem.
Mr. Manning was born 3-21-1887 in Jackson Co. son of Rufus & Jane McTice Manning.
On 2-27-1907, he married Stella Vizetta Welch in Maquoketa.
He is survived by his widow, 4 daughters, Mrs Ralph (Thelma) Niles of Warren, Mich., Mrs Paul (Velma) Carr of Onslow, Ia., Mrs Mildred Haas of California, Mrs Ray (Maxine) Sherman of Baldwin,
4 sons, Walter & Ernest, of Maquoketa, Robert of Eldridge, Ia., & Leland of Baldwin, a brother, Elmer Manning of Maquoketa, a sister, Mrs Vade (Bess) Pierce of Tucson, Arizona, & 22 grandchildren & 2 great-grandchildren.
