Florence K. Kippes, 91, of Greeley passed away Monday, August 6, 2012 in Greeley. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 pm Wednesday, August 7 at Tennant Funeral Home with Vigil and Rosary Evening Service to follow at 6 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 8 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Reverend Wojciech Gierasimczyk celebrating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Florence was born on August 22, 1920 in Sedgwick, Colorado to Andrew and Francis (Lell) Hershfeldt. She married Alex Kippes in Sedgwick on November 24, 1940. They were married, until his passing, for 60 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greeley.
She is survived by sons Don and wife Patty of Iliff, Ed and wife Willa Mae of Milliken, Colo., Jim and wife Edna of Denver, Leonard and wife Vicki of Denver; daughter Kathy Bellendir and husband Andrew of Greeley; sister Anne Klug of Chicago; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alex, 3 brothers, and 6 sisters.
