HARRY ARTHUR GARVIN, 90, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away, Sunday, June 11, 2006, at the Washington County Hospital. Born Wednesday, November 3, 1915, in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Harry Clarence Garvin and the late Virginia Armstrong Garvin.

He was a conductor with CSX Railroad with 42 years of service retiring in 1980. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. He also was a member of Brunswick Lodge #191 A.M. and F.M.; Hagerstown Tall Cedars, Scottish Rite; Ali Ghan Shrine, Cumberland, Md.; member of the Railroad Unit; Hagerstown Shrine Club; B.P.O. Elks of Hagerstown, Md.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Catherine Tritapoe Garvin; one son, Harry Allen Garvin of Slanesville, W.Va.; one daughter, C. Ann Ashby of Martinsburg, W.Va.; three granddaughters, Kelli Airis of Dallas, Texas, Mellissa Worthington of Pittsburgh, Pa., Sabrina Weller of Inwood, W.Va.; grandson, Troy Rabe of Winchester, Va. and great-grandson, Cole Weller.

He was preceded in death by one sister Pauline Garver and one brother Edward Garvin.

Services were held at St. John's Episcopal Church, Hagerstown; arrangements were by the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown; interment was in the St. Lukes Episcopal Church Cemetery, Brownsville.
