Mrs. Stegeman was born September 20, 1898, in Seneca, to Anton and Josephine Olberding Weber.
She married Henry Stegeman on March 30, 1921, at St. Mary's Church, St. Benedict. They lived and farmed in the Coal Creek area and in 1924 moved back to the St. Benedict area. In 1944 the family moved to Kansas City, MO. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1971. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Stegeman, in February, 1977.
For the past ten years she resided at the Little Sisters of the Poor. Katie loved to sew, corchet and knit.
Survivors include six daughters, Armella Janose, Ethelreda Thomas, Zita Whitlock, Henrietta Surber, Eileen Lane, Katharine Mynatt; one brother, Leo Weber, Seneca; two sisters, Marie Otting, Earlville, IA; Rosalia Eisenbarth, Corning; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held February 6, 1998, at Little Sisters fo the Poor Chapel, Kansas City, MO. Entombment was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum.
