WALTER C. LAU
Walter C. Lau, 77, died Friday, July 19, at his home at 622 Forest St. after a lingering illness.
Mr. Lau was born Dec. 11, 1896, in the town of Herman. His parents were Ludwig and Marie Zeller Lau. He married Ella Leudtke on May 22, 1921 in Emmanuel Lutheran church, town of Herman. They farmed in the town of Herman until 1944 when they moved to Hartford. Mr. Lau worked as a machinist at the West Bend Co. and also for Chrysler Outboard Corp.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Janet Christenson of Hartford; a brother Herman (Hulda) Lau, Hartford, and sister, Emma Buerger, Milwaukee.
Mr. Lau was a member of the American Legion and Hartford Barracks 2546, World War I veterans.
He was a member of Peace Lutheran church where the Rev. D. H. Kuehl officiated at funeral services Monday at 3 p.m. Interment was in Pleasant Hill cemetery. Prior to the services there was visitation at the Berndt funeral home.
