Joseph Elmer Curfman, well known citizen, died early Wednesday morning, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Daniel Schnebly, 965 Virginia avenue, of heart trouble, aged 81 years and 11 months. He was a lifelong resident of this section, and was engaged in the cigar business for several years, retiring on account of his health. Mr. Curfman was a member of the Lutheran Church of Williamsport, and lived in that vicinity for a number of years.
He is survived by the following daughters: Mrs. Daniel Schnebly, this city; Mrs. J. W. H. Beale and Miss Elizabeth Curfman, Baltimore; Mrs. Frank H. Tate, Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Mrs. Albert Gossard, Hagerstown; sons, Frank, Zullinger, Pa.; John, Sabillasville; Frederick, Mt. Wilson, Md., and George, Williamsport. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. W. H. Norris, Williamsport, and Mrs. Lizzie Plate, Clinton, Ill.

Funeral Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from 965 Virginia avenue, services by Rev. W. C. Huddle, assisted by Rev. Paul E. Holdcraft, Hagerstown. Burial in Riverview cemetery, Williamsport.
