OBITUARY OF MRS. ELLEN HASTINGS

SARAH ELLEN HEER, daughter of Ben and Martha Heer, was born at Table Rock, Nebraska December 17, 1888 and passed away at McDonald, Kansas February 3, 1939. Her age being 49 years, 1 month and 17 days. She spent her girlhood days in the family home of Table Rock, coming to Rawlins County in 1914. Ellen, as she was known to her many friends, was kind, loving and considerate to all.

She was united in marriage to Alvin D. Hastings, at McDonald, Kansas on December 10, 1916. To this union six children were born, one son passing away at infancy, and Herma Miller of Denver, Colo., Lela, Lealand, Wayne and Gloria all at home. She was a loving and faithful wife, a wonderful mother and a friend to all that knew her.

She is survived by her husband, children, five brothers and four sisters and many other relatives and friends. She fulfilled her duties graciously and uncomplaining and will be sadly missed by the community in which she lived.
