Frances J. (Wirtz) Albrecht, age 78, of 320 Crestview Lane, Nekoosa, died Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Ministry St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rev. John Swing will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at St. Joachim's Cemetery in Pittsville. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9:30 AM. until the time of service. Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home of Nekoosa is assisting the family. Frances was born June 15, 1934 in the town of Cranmoor, Wood County to Nickolas and Rose (Kundert) Wirtz. She married John Albrecht on July 31, 1971 in Pittsville. He died September 5, 2007. Frances was an elementary teacher in West Allis, Milwaukee, and Clinton, IN for 41-1/2 years, retiring in 1999.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish Council of Catholic Women (PCCW), and the Royal Neighbors of Indiana. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, walking and biking.

She is survived by seven siblings, Genevieve (Roy) Wentzel of Kaukauna, Theresa Arnold of Wisconsin Rapids, Isabel Acott of Kaukauna, Clarence Wirtz of Wisconsin Rapids, Richard (Barbara) Wirtz of Marshfield, Jerome (Sue) Wirtz of Wisconsin Rapids, and JoAnne (Jack) Hackman of Mosinee and is further survived by many nieces, nephews and John and Frances' beloved relatives, John (Cathy) Kerch, Mary Kerch, Robert Kerch, Karen (Gilbert) Grabner, Diana (Steven) Buczak, Brenda (Stephen) Dlapa and Edward (Suzzette) Kerch.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, Bernard and George Wirtz, and two sisters, Anne DeFilipps and Marie Graveen.

Memorials may be designated to Sacred Heart Church or the Assumption School System.
