Clarence Wirtz, age 93, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2023, with his loving family by his side.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids, WI on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Bathke presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass.

Clarence was born to Nickolas "Joe" and Rose (Kundert) Wirtz on January 10, 1930. He was number 5 of 12 children. He had fond memories of growing up on their cranberry marsh and always had stories to share. Clarence was a devoted Catholic and enjoyed all the blessings of his life.

Clarence married the love of his life, Catherine M. Greybar on July 2, 1955. They were blessed with four children, Mike, Cheryl, Tony and Lori. Clarence loved his country and enlisted in the Army in 1948. He was employed by Consolidated, Consoweld Division for 35 years.

Clarence enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and time outside. His favorite joy was his family, never forgetting a birthday of children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Clarence also enjoyed card playing with family and friends and let's not forget our games of cribbage "Do Da Do Da".

Clarence is survived by his children, Mike (Peggy) Wirtz, Cheryl (John) Klingforth, Tony (Candee) Wirtz, Lori (Jim) Cornwell; grandchildren, Joe Wirtz, Angie (Wes) Krause, Jacob (Shannon) Klingforth, Andy Klingforth, Troy (Cori) Wirtz, Tyler Wirtz, Nick Neidlein, Natasha Neidlein; great grandchildren, Maxton, Grayson, Chloe, Audree, Kaleigh, Ryott, Jaxx, Taylor, Cassandra, Gunner, Mason, MacKenzie, Alec; great great grandchildren, Connor, Valerie, Victoria, Joy and many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 57 years, Catherine; grandson, Jay; special friend Doris and nine brothers and sisters.

The family is grateful for the loving care given to dad at Arborwood Lodge.
