Anna was the daughter of John Ritter (died 1883 Germany) and Johanna Schmidt (died 1910 Carroll Co., IA). She married John Bollmann in Oct. of 1890 in Carroll, Iowa. She is buried beside her brother, John Ritter.

Jan 20, 1939 - Carroll Daily Herald - Mrs. Anna Bollmann, who had made her home with her sister, Miss Ida Ritter, for the last 20 years, died from pneumonia at St Anthony Hospital at 11:15 a.m. Friday. If she had lived until Feb 1, she would have been 70 years old.

For the last 5 or 6 years, Mrs. Bollmann has been in poor health and had frequently been in the hospital here for treatment. Last Sunday she was taken seriously ill with pneumonia and was removed to the hospital Wednesday morning.

Her sister and brother, Miss Ida Ritter and John Ritter, and two nieces, Mrs. Mary Seeden of Glidden and Mrs. Dick Heuton of Carroll, were at her bedside when she passed away. The body is at the Huffman Funeral Home where it will rest until the time of the services.

Rites will be held at the funeral home at 2:30 Sunday afternoon with the Rev. W.F. Clayburg, minister of the Methodist church officiating. Burial will be in the Carroll Cemetery.

Mrs. Bollmann was born Anna Ritter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ritter, in Bunda, Germany, Feb 1, 1869 and was one of a family of 7 children. She attended school in her native country.

In 1886 she came to the United States with her mother and her brother and sister, John and Ida Ritter, the father having passed away the year before. The family came directly to Carroll.

In October, 1890, she married George Bollmann at Carroll. After farming near Carroll for a time, they moved to Milwaukee, Wis., later returning to Carroll, where Mrs. Bollmann had lived ever since.

Mrs. Bollmann was a member of the Methodist Church, with which she united many years ago. She became a member when the church was an old frame building on the present site of the Carroll Public Library.

Surviving Mrs. Bollmann are her sister, Miss Ida Ritter, with whom she made her home; her brother, John Ritter, of Carroll; three nieces and two nephews and a number of grandnephews and grandnieces.

Three of her grandnephews will be unable to attend the funeral services. They are Lester Seeden of the United States Navy, who is on his way from California to Cuba; Clarence Seeden of Huntington Park, Calif.; and Irven Heuton of San Mato, Calif.
