Born Sept 16, 1897, at Kolb, Russia. Came to the United States with his parents. Married Mary Schott, Dec. 20, 1919, in Weld County, Colorado. Came to Scottsbluff in 1921. Farmed in the valley until his retirement in 1964 and lived in Scottsbluff since that time.
Survivors: Sons, John R. of Chadron, Harold and Melvin of Scottsbluff; daughters, Mrs. Victor (Lillian) Dietz of Fremont, Calif., Mrs. Fred (Dorothy) Kobobel of Greeley, Colo., Mrs. Henry (June) Ring, Mres. Harry (Donna) Johnson, and Mrs. Donald (Loretta) Schmall, all of Scottsbluff, sister, Mrs. J.J. Weinmaster of Morrill; brother, Reinhold Kanzler of Platteville, Colo.; 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his wife, three daughters, one grandson and three brothers. Funeral arrangements are pending at Benson-Jollife Funeral Home.
