Tante Elsbeth was baptized February 23, 1879, by Reverend Dr. Borcherd in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ummendorf, Germany. Her baptismal sponsors were Christoph Friedrichs, Elisabeth Meyer and Dorothea Friedrichs.

Elsbeth Friedrichs was confirmed April 2, 1893, in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ummendorf. Tante Elsbeth's confirmation text was Isaiah 40: 31 "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint".

Tante Elsbeth married Otto Emmer on April 16, 1906, in Ummendorf.

They were the parents of two sons and one daughter:

(1.) Friedrich Paul George Otto Emmer born November 26, 1907, in Helmstedt, Germany.

(2.) Hans Wilhelm Heinrich Emmer born June 22, 1909, in Helmstedt, Germany.

(3) Else Charlotte Gertrud Emmer born November 8, 1914, in Helmstedt, Germany.

Tante Elsbeth and Onkel Otto Emmer lived through World War II, and at the war's end, they saw the division of Germany among the allied powers. The city of Helmstedt became part of the British-occupied zone of Germany, and in 1949, Tante Elsbeth and Onkel Otto became citizens of the Federal Republic of Germany, or West Germany.

At her death in 1953 at the age of 74, Elsbeth Friedrichs Emmer was survived by her two sons, Otto Emmer and Hans Emmer; her daughter, Gertrud Danker nee Emmer; her four grandchildren, Peter Emmer, Uta Emmer, Inge Emmer, and Rosmarie Danker.

Elsbeth Emmer (nee Friedrichs) was preceded in death by her parents, Christoph and Dorothea (nee Luddemann) Friedrichs; her husband of 45 years, Otto Emmer; her brothers, Hermann Friedrichs, Otto Friedrichs, Christoph Wilhelm Friedrichs, Carl Franz Friedrichs, and an unnamed infant brother; and her three sisters, Marie Blankenstein , Alwine Domke, and Emilie Voigt.
