Obituary ~ Deseret News, Wednesday, April 5, 1899, Page 2

"DIED" - RANDALL ~ At Murray, Salt Lake county of dropsy, Alice Grace, beloved daughter of B.Y. and Sarah Ross Randall, aged 7 years and 7 months.

Funeral from residence, Murray, Wednesday, the 5th inst. Friends of the family invited."

(Dropsy is retention of water in tissues and cavities which can be caused by a heart disease, kidney disease, cirrhosis of the liver, etc.)

14 March 1963 - Quote from Flora Darling Randall, Taylor, sister to Alice, on Flora's 74th birthday celebration.
"She was just a little of seven years old. She was buried down at the Murray Cemetery. She had scarlet fever when she was a baby and it didn't come out on her. It struck her inwardly and it affected her heart and kidneys. She puffed up and swelled up and was sick all the time.
I remember when they had her funeral, Mother and Dad rode up to the cemetery in a surrey, as they called it then, and they held the coffin with my sister right on their laps to take her to the cemetery. I guess she looked like most of we sisters, I don't know. Some of us look a like."

Alice is buried just north of her sister, Sarah Mary Randall, Olsen.
