OBITUARY Iron River Reporter April 6 1967 "Julia Kosloske, Area Pioneer, Dies At 80"
Mrs. Julia Kosloske, 80, of 221 Fourth Street in Stambaugh, passed away Monday [April3] morning at the Hyland Nursing Home in Iron Mountain following an illness of several years.
Mrs. Kosloske was born in Germany on June 24, 1886 and came here as a child with her parents, who were area pioneers. She attended Stambaugh schools and was a resident of the area for 77 years. Her husband, Alexander, preceded her in death on June 18, 1961. A brother, Adolph Steinke, passed away on January 16, 1967. She had been a resident of the Nursing Home for the past 3 ½ years.
Surviving the deceased are four daughters: Mrs. Conrad (Adeline) Lantz, Sarasota, Florida, Mrs. Victor (Anne) Weathers, Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. David (Katherine) Fritts, Oak Park, Ill., Mrs. Earl (Clara) Frechette, Iron Mountain. Three sisters also survive: Mrs. Edward (Anna) Franke, Stambaugh Township, Mrs. A.H. Proksch, Iron River and Mrs. Clara Thalheimer of Los Angeles, Calif. She also leaves eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stambaugh, officiated by Rev. Richard Shimek. Burial will follow in the Stambaugh Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. this afternoon.
The LaFave Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services were held Friday [April 7] afternoon for Mrs. Julia Kosloske, 80, who passed away last Monday.
The last rites were held at 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon in St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Richard Shimek, pastor, officiating.
Organist for the services was Mrs. Marie Anderson, accompanying Miss Dorothy Meagher, who sang "From Greenland's Icy Mountains" and "Abide With Me".
Pallbearers were Edward Rachey, Richard Rachey, Edward Rollin, Marvin Melchiori, William Brooks and Jack Eusebio.

OBITUARY of daughter Clara Frechette 1994 says she is the daughter of Alex and Julia Kosloske and was born 1913 in Stambaugh.

OBITUARY of Adolph C. Steinke 1967 mentions Mrs. Alexander (Julia) Kosloske of Iron Mountain as sister.

OBITUARY of Charles Kowalski 1934 says Mrs. Alex Kosloske of Stambaugh is his stepdaughter. A stepson is named Steinke.
