OBITUARY Iron River Reporter January 14 1970 "Obituaries: Thalheimer"
Clare [should be Clara] M. Thalheimer (nee Steinke) [believe that nee should be Kowalski], 74, passed away Friday, January 2 at the Crystal Falls Municipal Hospital after an illness of one year.
She was born May 1, 1895 in Stambaugh and lived the greater share of her life in this area, except for about 30 years when she resided in California. She returned two years ago and had been living with her sister, Mrs. Franke, in the Baumgartner district. She was a member of St. Mark's Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Carole) Mason of Torrance, California; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Edward (Anna) Franke, of Stambaugh Township and Mrs. A.H. Proksch, of Iron River and several nieces.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 5 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church with Rev. Vern Voss officiating. Burial was in Stambaugh Cemetery.
At the services Mrs. Dorothy Meagher sang "Abide With Me" and "I'm But A Stranger Here", accompanied by Mrs. Vern Voss, organist.
Pallbearers were Peter Pede [Pedo?], Jack Hill, Richard Rachey, Edward Rachey, Joseph Wurzer and Leonard Wurzer.
The LaFave-Brooks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
