Tony, as he was known, was the son of immigrants, Franz and Sophie Braunschweig Kosak.

Born in Saginaw MI, he grew up in Sioux City IA. Tony is what is known in the family as a "rolling stone" He married at least twice but never for long. He married Birdie Ward in 1902 and Martha Davis in 1914.

It is thought he had a son along life's way but none has ever turned up.

Tony worked as a cigarmaker in the 1920's and 1930's.
