He was born in Linton, N.D., May 19, 1930 to Sebastian and Catherine (Wolf) Schneider. He attended schools in North Dakota and then joined the United States Navy. Following his discharge Michael came to Butte to work in the mines. On Christmas Eve, 1954 Michael married Ethel Marie (Newgard) Hinch, and she preceded him in death on February 15, 1997. Also preceding him are two sons, Tim Hinch and Kenny Schneider, his parents, brothers, Jerome, Louie and Joe, his sisters, Betty Fettig, Mary Shuck and Theresa Miller.
Michael worked as a truck driver for Consolidated Freight for 35 years until his retirement. He enjoyed his annual trips to Wendover, Nev. He loved to tell a good joke but was usually laughing too hard to finish the punch line and he liked to walk in the mall and visit with his “Liars Club.”
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial services will be conducted Thursday morning at 11 o’clock in Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home with Father Thomas Haffey officiating.
Interment of ashes will take place in Mountain View Cemetery.
