Survived by the community of Notre Dame Sisters; brothers: Albert Schwarte (Gay) of Defiance, IA, Richard Schwarte (Myrna) of Manilla, IA, and Joe Schwarte Jr. (Vernita) of Defiance, IA; sisters: Irene Schwarte of Manning, IA, Sr. Darlene Schwarte of Des Moines, IA, Thelma Nelson (Gordon) of Harlan, IA, and Karen Brinker (Clarence) of Harlan, IA; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Schwarte (Eugene) and Glenda Hall (Dwayne); nieces and nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews.

HOMECOMING Tuesday, 4pm, followed by VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm, all at the Notre Dame Chapel, 3501 State St. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL Wednesday, 1pm at the Notre Dame Chapel. Interment, Calvary Cemetery. Memorials to the Notre Dame Sisters of Omaha.

KNOD Radio, Harlan - Funeral Mass for Sister Madonna Schwarte of Omaha, formerly of Defiance, will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, April 29, at the Notre Dame Convent in Omaha. Sister Madonna passed away on Thursday, April 23, at Creighton Omaha. Survivors include 3 brothers: Albert Schwarte of Defiance; Richard Schwarte of Irwin; Joe Schwarte of Defiance, 6 sisters, and many nieces and nephews. A visitation service will be held at 7pm on Tuesday, April 28, at the Notre Dame Convent in Omaha.
