Obituary in the Upper Dauphin Sentinel, August 16, 1968:
Charles W. Lentz Rites Held Monday
Charles W. Lentz, 83, of 359 North Street, Millersburg, died last Friday, in the Harrisburg Hospital, where he had been a patient since the previous Monday evening.
He was born December 2, 1884, a son of the late Calvin and Lydia Wilbert Lentz, at Elizabethville. His wife, Minnie Mae Riegle Lentz, passed away September 17, 1967.
Mr. Lentz was a retired farmer, and was employed by the State Department from 1948 to 1958. He was a brother to the late James E. Lentz, who was a former Dauphin County Commissioner. Deceased was a second cousin to President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Two sons lost their lives while in military service, Eugene C. Lentz in 1945, during World War II, and Richard R. Lentz in 1951, in the Korean conflict.
Mr. Lentz was a member of Riegle's United Methodist Church, Millersburg, R.D.
Surving are five sons, Clair R., of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Robert C., of Baltimore, Maryland; Paul J., of Dallas, Texas; Senator William B. Lentz, of Millersbur, R.D., and Carl C. Lentz, of Harrisburg; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Services were held Monday from the Riegle Funeral Home, Millersburg, with the Rev. Robert P. Stokes, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, of this place, assisted by the Rev. S.A. Sitler, former pastor of Riegle's Church, officiating. Interment was made in Oak Hill Cemetery.
