HARDIN Lydia Uffelman, 73, of Hardin, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2005, in Denver.
She was born Jan. 5, 1932, in Laurel, the daughter of Phillip and Mabel Ruff Michael. She was and raised and educated in the area, graduating from Park City High School. She married Henry Uffelman, Dec. 13, 1958, in Laurel.
Lydia worked for the Hardin school district for a number of years. She had many fond memories of her years at the school, especially those spent with special education children.
After her retirement, she enjoyed her flowers and working outside in her yard. She also spent much of her time watching her grandchildren participate in sporting events. She was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first great-grandchild.
Her parents; son, Daniel; sisters, Molly Schuman, Pauline Walters, Esther Michael and Elizabeth Leikman; brothers, George, Robert and Phillip Michael, Jr.; and nephews, Scott Stricker and Harvey Michael, preceded Lydia in death.
Survivors include her husband, Henry; her daughters, Teri (Tim) Wagner of Hardin and Linda (Paul) Vandersloot of Billings; her grandchildren, Amanda (Jesse) Boatright, Adrian and Andrew Wagner, Jeremie, Justin and Jessica Vandersloot; her brothers and sisters, Mary Krug and Rosie Michael of Laurel, Martha (Marvin) Stricker of Wyoming, Jack (Pauline) Michael of California, Ed (Sandy) Michael of Park City and Bill (Joan) Michael of Billings.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 2, in the Bullis Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Hardin Special Olympics any may be left at the Funeral Home.
