Life Legacy

Emma E. Brown, age 89, of West, passed away late Wednesday evening, August 19, 2015 at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro.

A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2015 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery. The family will receive from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home.

Emma was born December 7, 1925 in Lott, the daughter of Peter and Josephine (Niekamp) Laubert. She attended schools in Tours and West. On January 27, 1948 she was united in marriage to Francis J. Brown in Tours. Francis preceded her in death on February 7, 1997. Emma was a homemaker and Mother. She was a very longtime and faithful member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. She was also a member of St. Elizabeth's Altar Society in Tours. Emma enjoyed working in her yard and quilting. She especially loved to spend time with her family.

Emma is also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Donald P. Brown; a sister, Sister Ann Bernadette Laubert; and brothers, Lawrence Laubert, Edmund Laubert, Herman Laubert and Joe Laubert.

Survivors include three daughters, Doris Hessel and husband Robert and Janice Hromadka and husband Raymond, all of West and Sharon Lenart and husband Kenny of Abbott; five sons, Robert J. Brown and wife Elaine of Abbott, Larry Brown and wife Bernice of Tours, Jerry Brown and Sandy Wideman of West; Kenneth Brown and wife Vicki of Hillsboro and Kevin Brown and wife Sandy of West; brothers, Alvin Laubert and Ervin Laubert; sisters, Angeline Henkelman and Josephine King; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers are Grandsons, James Brown, Raymond Hromadka III, Craig Hromadka, Tim Brown, Travis Brown, Tyler Brown and Ben Brown. Honorary pallbearers are granddaughters, Karen Ballard, Robyn Wiley, Shannon Cox, Melanie Hejl, Kayla Hromadka, Holly Cohorn, Kelly Kaska, Cori Deemer, Tana Brown, Emily Brown and Jodi Brown.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Martin's Cemetery Association or the charity of your choice.
