Joseph was born in McLennan County, Texas, to the late Peter and Josephine (Niekamp) Laubert. He attended Tours and West Schools. Joe served his country with the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1959. On May 28, 1960, he was united in marriage to Veronica Grones in West. Joe was an electrician for General Tire and Rubber Co. in Waco for 28 years and then became an Instructor at T.S.T.C. for 11 years before retiring in 1998. Joe was also a farmer and rancher. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family. Joe was a lifetime member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector, President of St. Martin's Cemetery Association, Church Council, Picnic Organizer, and taught religion classes. He was also a member of Catholic Life Branch #4, the R.V.O.S. Lodge, and West V.F.W. Post No. 4819, where he served on the Honor Guard.
Joe was preceded in death by two brothers, Edmond Laubert and Herman Laubert.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 50 years, Vernoica Laubert, of West; sons, Joe Laubert Jr. and wife, Judy, of Blum, and David Laubert, of Hubbard; daughters, Donna Herbert and husband, Mike, and Patricia Baum and husband, Doug, all of Valley Mills; grandchildren, Tena Wright, Joe Laubert III, Vanessa Baum, Delany Baum, Hunter Herbert, and Pecos Baum; great-grandchildren, Andrew Parker and Gunner Laubert; brothers, Alvin Laubert and Ervin Laubert, both of West, and Lawrence Laubert, of Waco; sisters, Sister Ann Bernadette, of San Antonio, Angeline Henkleman, of Waco, Emma Brown, of Tours, and Josephine King, of Dallas; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
