Theodore Henry August Philippi was born March 18, 1901, to Gerd Wilhelm and Sophie Charlotte Middendorf Philippi at Bruning. He died at the Heritage Nursing Home in Geneva on July 11, 1994, at the age of 93.
He was baptized on April 14, 1901 and confirmed on April 16, 1916.
He married Olga Muehling on Oct. 3, 1923 and to them three children were born. They lived and farmed near Bruning until her death. He then moved in town with his children.
In 1945, he was united in marriage to Rose Dearking after which they moved to Geneva. I
A devout Christian, he held various offices in his church. He was active and involved in the development and building of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Geneva.
Rose died in 1987 and he moved to the Pioneer Manor Senor Center apartments. In 1992, due to failing health, he entered the Heritage Care Center in Geneva.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerd and Sophie Philippi; wives, Olga and Rose; brothers, William and Fred; sisters, Dora Dageforde, Lizzie Bruning and Lena Springer.
He is survived by his three children, Louis Philippi of Denver, Orlene Cornell of Gering and Helen (Merle) Willet of Beatrice; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Services were conducted from Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Geneva, with interment in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Bruning.
