Anna Marie (Heiman) Keller, 92, of Hunter, KS, died Thursday, May 5, 2016, in Salina, KS. Marie was born in rural Mitchell County on March 1, 1924, to Anton and Catherine (Salley) Heiman.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husbands, Wilbert Ninke and Leonard I. Keller; brothers, Joe, Paul, Fred, Lawrence, Jack, Gene, and infant, Fred; sisters, Leona, Frances, Rosie, and infant, Agnes; grandson, Tim Powell.
Left to celebrate her life include: sons, Gary (Kim) Keller, of Garden City, John (Becky) Keller, of Hunter, Bill (Marilyn) Ninke, of Broken Arrow, OK, ; daughters, Sharon Parkhurst, of Salina, Lenetta (Gary) Haynes, of Colorado Springs, CO. 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Marie found her soul mate in Leonard. They really enjoyed vacations. One of their favorite trips was the one to Lake Tahoe, Reno, Las Vegas and Laughlin, all done in one week. They also enjoyed trips to Prairie Band Casino. Every day of their married life, they worked side by side milking cows and farming.
She most enjoyed her card parties with the ladies and sitting on the porch bird watching.
She was afraid of storms and always cleaned the cellar each spring so we wouldnt have to be in a dirty, spidery place for the tornadoes.
She loved her children and grandchildren. They were everything to her. She had cookies aplenty in the cookie jar for all the grandkids visits. Should she not have baked any, she would get some from the store to make sure there was enough for all.
There were thirteen cherry trees in the yard. She picked what cherries we needed and then asked the neighbors to take what they wanted. Then after the neighbors had their fill, she picked the rest and made many different cherry things, just to be sure nothing went to waste.
Visitation: 5-7:00 P.M. Friday, May 6, at Hall Chapel, Lincoln, with family present, and 12-2:15 P.M. Saturday, May 7, prior to service.
Funeral: 2:30 P.M. Saturday, May 7th, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hunter, with interment following in Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
