Louise Johannaha Eiler, third daughter of Theodore H. and Katherine A. Gronewaller, was born on a farm near
Delphos January 15, 1894. She passed away at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit April 4, 1980 at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 20 days.

She was a member of the Catholic Church and the Altar Society in Delphos.

She was united in marriage to Bernard John Eiler April 26. 1911, and to this union were born three sons and three daughters. Their home was southwest of Delphos, where she and her husband farmed until his death in 1940. She continued to make her home there until August 1967, when she moved to Minneapolis because of her health. In 1970 she became a resident of the Lewis Rest Home of Beloit, and later was transferred to the Hilltop Lodge.

Surviving are her three sons: Gilbert Eiler of Minneapolis, Leo Eiler of Pocahontas, Arkansas and Leonard Eiler of Safford. Arizona; one daughter Kathryn Johnson of Cortland. Nebraska; nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, three sisters, her husband, two daughters. Marie and Regina, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 8, 1980. at 10:00 a.m. from St. Paul's Catholic Church in Delphos with the Rev. Raymond Pachta officiating. Vocalist was Wilson Davis with Mrs. Carroll Righter serving as organist. Honorary bearers were Howard Cain. Clarence Cain, Lester Smith, Willard Sechrist, Emmit King, Wayne Smith and John R. Nelson. Casket bearers were Harold Paul. Darrell Stauffer. Bill Schrandt, Richard Steinbrock, Maurice Hally and Jim Hart. Burial was in St. Paul's Cemetery. The Rosary was recited at 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Shields Funeral Home in Minneaoolis.
