Leonard H. Eiler, 88, of Safford, entered into eternal life, on Friday, October 21, 2011 in Safford. He was born on October 7, 1923 in Delphos, KS, to Bernard and Louise Eiler. He worked on the family farm growing up in Kansas.

He met Marjorie Betts and they were married on November 30, 1949 in Kansas. To this union were born four daughters, Karen (David) Schneider of Vail, AZ, Deann (Terril) Palmer of Safford, AZ, Carla (Darrell) Lawrence of Ft. Smith, AR, and Debra (Marvin) Smith of Bull Head City, AZ.

Leonard loved guns and to gunsmith, which he learned from his father-in-law. He loved to camp with Marjorie and the girls, especially in the mountains. He loved to travel in his RV and he and Marjorie traveled all over the United States.

He is survived by his wife Marjorie, his four daughters, 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and three sisters.

Friends may call on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from 6-8 pm at the Caldwell Funeral Chapel, 112 East Main Street in Safford.

Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Communion services will follow at 11 a.m., with Deacon Carl Vessels officiating.

Interment will be in the Gila Valley Memorial Gardens.
