Esther Todd, 75, La Salle, died Wednesday, June 9, at Bonell Good Samaritan Center.
She was born March 20, 1918, in Greeley to Jacob and Mabel (Gettman) Grosskopf.
Mrs. Todd grew up and attended schools in Greeley. On Dec. 2, 1939, she married Samuel Graydon Todd in Greeley. He worked in the coal mining business until the family moved to California, where he worked in construction for three years. They returned to La Salle in 1944 and farmed in the area until they retired. She was a homemaker and active in church.
She enjoyed gardening and raising flowers, listening to gospel music, reading Bible scriptures and spending time with family and friends.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of La Salle and Stonecroft Bible Study.
Survivors are her husband, Samuel Todd of La Salle; a daughter, Carol Rains of Greeley; a son, Gary Todd, also of La Salle; two sisters, Frieda Sitzman and Amelia Miller, both of Greeley; three brothers, her twin Harold Grosskopf of Greeley, Fred Grosskopf of Sheboygan, Wis., and Rieney Grosskopf of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. A daughter, Julie Annette Todd, and five brothers, Abe, Jake, Henry, Reuben mid Emanuel Grosskopf, are deceased.
Services will be at 10a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church of La Salle. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Friends may visit until 8 p.m. Sunday at Stoddard Funeral Home.
