Anton Wallner became a citizen of the United States on August 22 1891.
There was a great interest in music in the Wallner family, and all of Anton's children learned to play instruments, and would often play together as an ensemble.
Anton liked to take walks in the woods, and his favorite walking partner was his daughter Nora. Anton was versed in identification of edible mushrooms, and he would often find and harvest some to have with dinner. They would also pick wild blueberries, blackberries and grapes.
Anton also had an interest in gymnastics and was founder and first president of the “Duetches Turnen Verein” in New Bedford (German Gymnastics Society).
