She went to nursing school and became a registered nurse around the time of World War I. She told of how one of her patients was Christy Mathewson. She had treated him as she would any other patient, which was very good treatment, but didn't treat him as a celebrity, which he appreciated.
On 9/6/1920 Nora married her childhood sweetheart, Otto Palme. They grew up as neighbors in New Bedford, and their parents were good friends. Nora's best friend was Otto's younger sister Winifred, who tragically died at a young age.
Nora and Otto moved to Rumford, RI, at 345 Pleasant St. There they raised a family of three children, Winifred (named after Otto's sister), Robert and Natalie. They lived there until 1969 when they both moved to Duxbury, MA to live with their daughter Winifred and son-in-law Joseph Nash Myers.
She was a kind hearted, soft spoken and loving mother and grandmother, and a really phenominal cook.
Nora died in Duxbury on 2/11/1970.
