Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church here for Henry “Hank” Brucken, 83, Holton, who died Friday , Feb. 3, 1995, at his home.
He was Sept. 3, 1911, in the Kelly community in Nemaha County, the son of Edward A. and Thresia Sextro Brucken. He was a farmer and stockman.
He was a member of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Holton, Knights of Columbus Council No 4219 and Jackson County Farmers Cooperative.
He was married to Mary Hermesch Feb. 17, 1943, in Kelly. She survives.
Other survivors include four daughters, Delores Hughes, Lawrence, Doris Wright, Fresno, Calif., Joyce Sharp, Topeka, and Cindy Meyer, Mayetta; a son, Donald Brucken, Omak, Wash.; two sisters, Mary Wessel, Topeka, and Dorothy Benoit, Hoyt; four brothers, Edwin Brucken, Beattie, Albert Brucken, Raytown, Mo., Lawrence Brucken, Soldier, and Leo Brucken, Havensville; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery west of Holton. Mr. Brucken will lie in state until 10 a.m. today at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Jackson County Friends of Hospice in Holton, 66436.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Travis Sharp, Chad Sharp, Shawn Hughes, Blake Meyer, Troy Brucken, Scott Brucken, and Brian Wright.
Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters, Becky Zibell, Jami Wright, Sheri Hamlin, Stephanie Hughes and Jessica Meyer.
