Adam married first to Sarah Pickett (1800-1834) in c1825. The cemetery transcription for Sarah gives a death date of 1831. This needs to be confirmed. Adam and Sarah were the parents of five known children, namely:
1. John Anderson Mock (1826-1910)
2. William Franklin Mock (1828-1903)
3. Adam Alexander Mock (1831-1898)
4. Noah Phillip Mock (1833-1891)
5. Peter Wesley Mock (1834-1899)
It is believed that the three sons William, Alexander and Noah moved to California. Their half brother, Joseph James Mock, joined them there later.
Some records mistakenly include Hannah Jemima Mock (1829-1844) as a child in this family. She is also buried at Midway United Methodist Church Cemetery. However, Hannah is actually a daughter of Adam's elder brother, Philip Mock (1788-1851).
After Sarah died, Adam remarried to Nancy Ripple (1817-1906) on 20 Sep 1835 at Davidson County, North Carolina. Nancy was the daughter of Christian and Cathrine Hoehns/Hanes. Adam and Nancy were the parents of twelve known children, namely:
6. Henry Christian Mock (1836-1863)
7. Belinda Catherine Mock (1837-1856)
8. Andrew Martin Mock (1839-1857)
9. Eliza Jane Mock Long (1840-1920)
10. Leander Nicholson Mock (1842-1917)
11. George Washington Mock (1844-1864)
12. Joseph James Mock (1846-p1880)
13. Nancy Pauline Mock Knouse (1848-1922)
14. Jacob Jackson Mock (1851-1883)
15. Thomas Jefferson Mock (1852-???)
16. David Columbus Mock (1854-1936)
17. infant son Mock (1857-1857)
The son George Washington Mock enlisted in the Confederate Army and died at Ream's Station, Virginia where he is presumed buried.
