Nancy Pauline (went by Paulina) Mock was the eighth of twelve known children of Adam Mock (1792-1856) and his second wife, Nancy Ripple (1817-1906), who married 20 Sep 1835 at Davidson County, North Carolina. Adam was first married to Sarah Pickett (1800-1834) in c1825 in presumably North Carolina, with whom he had five children.
Paulina married Jonas Knouse (1846-1911) on 14 Feb 1869 at Davidson County, North Carolina. Paulina and Jonas were the parents of five known children, namely:
1. Laura Catherine Knouse Craver (1870-1910)
2. Clara N. Knouse Brewer (1872-1913)
3. George Franklyn Knouse (1874-1947)
4. Jacob Thomas Knouse (1878-1954)
