Charles Franklin Alfonso of Pueblo, Colo., passed away Nov. 17, 2017, at the age of 84.

At his request, cremation, with memorial services to be held at a later date, at which the time will be announced.

Arrangements made under the direction of the Comi Funeral Home.

Charles Franklin Alfonso, age 84, formerly of Raton, N.M., passed away Nov. 17, 2017, in Pueblo, Colo.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Vito and Anna Alfonso; brothers and spouses, Joe, Tony (Josephine), Leo (Eva), Hank (Lucy), Louis (Charlotte), George, Sam, Vito (Lorraine); sisters and spouses, Carmella (Mario), Andreatta, Mary (George) Zappanti; in-laws, Charlie and Irene Battu; and sister-in-law, Barbara (Ralph) Gormley.

He is survived by wife of 59 years, Marie; children and spouses, John (Nadine), Mesa, Ariz., Charlene Alfonso, Salem, Ore., and Leslie (Dale) Hayase, Salem, Ore.; grandchildren, Caitlin, Ryleigh, Kellen and Dane; sisters-in-law, Ann and Wanda Alfonso; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Frank graduated from Trinidad High School in 1952 and Trinidad Junior College in 1954.

He served in the U.S. Army for two years.

Upon discharge, in 1956, he obtained his RT at St. Mary-Corwin Hospital. He was the supervisor of the X-ray department at Miners Hospital of New Mexico and Colfax County Hospital in Raton, N.M.

He enjoyed gardening, family, his dog, Charlie, and neighbors.

Memorial service to be held at 10 a.m. April 20, 2018, at St. Joseph Church, 1145 S. Aspen Road, Pueblo, CO 81006.
