Anna was the daughter of Guiseppe Cannella and Carmela Cancelleri. She was born in Prizzi, Sicily. When a young girl Anna's parents and the Alfonso family signed a contract promising Anna to marry their son Vito. On 12 March 1912 she arrived on the Principe di Piemonte along with her aunt Nicolina (Castelli) Coniglio. 12 days later she and Vito were wed in Trinidad on 8 May 1912. Their ship left port in Palermo on 12 April 1912 three days before the Titanic sank with a loss of approximately 1,500 lives. Vito & Anna had 12 children. Anna is buried on one side of the cemetery and her husband Vito on another side as she did not want to be buried next to him.
