Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017, and will resume at 8:30 a.m. until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
Vida Cole Townley, 94, eldest daughter of Nicholas and Vicki Belgard Cole was born June 30, 1923. She passed from this world on December 25, 2017 in the peace and tranquility of her home as a result of natural causes. She was married for 63 years to her husband George W. Townley who passed away on May 19, 2003.
She is survived by her five children Beverly Townley, Leonard Townley (Ruth), Georgia Marrotte (Marshall), Janice Rachal(Leon) and Sheldon Townley, and a total of 37 grandchildren, great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren. She is survived by one brother, Douglas Wayne Cole.
She was preceded in death by her Parents and by six brothers, Leland, Elliott, L.J, Vermon, Nicholas Nash, John Cole and three sisters, Doris Woodruff, Shirley Paul and Dorothy Redwine.
Mrs. Townley served her community by maintaining a well-run home in which she raised her children, sometimes under difficult circumstances. She served her country by being mother to three children while her husband, George spent two years in Europe serving in the infantry during World War II. She leaves her family the heritage of a good name earned on the fields of faithful hard work.
Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers will be select grandchildren and great grandchildren.
