Agnes S. Boden, age 97, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018, at Crestview Nursing & Residential Living in Seneca KS where she was cared for by a wonderful, loving staff since November 1st, 2017.

Agnes was born on October 10, 1920 to Bernard and Agnes (Enneking) Glissman. In her youth, she lived with her parents and 15 siblings on a farm South of Kelly. She attended Kelly Grade School and graduated from 8th grade. She worked on the family farm until she married Nicholas F (Nick) Boden on April 22, 1941. The couple made their home South of Corning, where they raised their 8 children.

After Nick died on March 6, 1975, Agnes completed her GED and worked as a cook at the Centralia schools where she became head cook until she retired in 1990. She moved off the farm in 2003 and resided in Seneca until her death. She was a member of St. Peter and Paul Parish and the St Ann's Altar Society in Seneca. She loved visiting with family and friends, going to sporting events, gardening, cooking, playing bingo at the care homes, playing cards, and quilting.

She is survived by her eight children, Jerry (Karleen) Boden of Corning, Don (Alice) Boden of Keller, TX, Gene (Nancy) Boden of Topeka, Larry (Debbie) Boden of Topeka, Bob (Joyce) Boden of Seneca, Diane (Jim) White of Anchorage, AK, Marlin (Charlene) Boden of Soldier, and Mary (Charlie) Sauvage of Clifton. She was blessed with 22 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren (one more arriving later this year) and 5 great-great grandchildren (one more arriving later this year).

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her five brothers, August, Callistus, Aloysius, Cletus, and Bernard Glissman; three sisters, Thresa Blocker, Sister Agnes Marie (Pauline), and Frances Steinlage; two half-brothers, Henry and Leo Hunninghake; three half-sisters, Anna Glissman, Mary Krogman and Betty Kongs; two step-brothers, Raymond and Albert Korte; and a great-grandchild, Thomas Boden.

Rosaries will be at 2:00 and 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca. Burial will be in the St. Patrick's Church cemetery in Corning.
