Mary Jane Baier, 71, of Garden City, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
She was born March 7, 1944, in Garden City, to Philip David and Mary Burgardt Baier. She graduated from Holcomb High School.
She worked for many years as a beautician at Unique Beauty Salon and then worked for the next 23 years for St. Catherine Hospital in Central Stores. She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City and a lifetime member of the Eagles Lodge. She loved her dogs and cats, attending auctions and garage sales, and family gatherings.
Survivors include two brothers, James Baier of Garden City, and John and wife Pat Baier of Louisa, Va.; two sisters, Helen Smith of Garden City, and Virginia and husband Dennis Green of Garden City; her long-time friend and companion, Bob Hill of Dodge City; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Edward Baier, David Baier and Andrew Baier; and a sister, Cathy Baier.
A private family service will take place at a later date.
