Josephine D. Springer, 96, died April 26, 2018. She was born November 29, 1921, in Milberger, Kansas, the daughter of Victor E. and Elizabeth (Popp) Keil.
On June 30, 1946, she married Ervin F. Springer, in Great Bend, Kansas. He preceded her in death on February 9, 1975.
She was a longtime resident of Hoisington, coming from Milberger. In her early years she worked as a caller for the railroad and later worked at Center Street Market while helping her husband in their business Springer Paint and Repair. She then worked as a security guard at Essex, and was later employed at the Highland Hotel.
Survivors include: son, Ervin F. Springer, Jr.; daughter, Kayla Springer; and grandson, Keil Springer, all of Hoisington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and seven brothers; Clifford, Melvin, Hubert, Ernest, Gerhardt, Waldomar “Wally”, and Julius H. Keil; and three sisters, Esther Keil , Florence Keil, and Clara Galliart.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 30, 2018, at Hoisington Cemetery, with Pastor Garry Dassow presiding.
