Services are pending for John J. Melchior, 66, 216 Van Buren, a lifetime Topekan who died Saturday morning in a local hospital.

A retired boilermaker and inspector for the Santa Fe Railway, he was born Aug. 2, 1897 Topeka.

Mr. Melchior was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus No. 2608, Fourth Degree.

Survivors include his wife, Anna, of the home; one daughter, Lucille Shock, Oklahoma City; three brothers, George Melchior, 1108 Washburn, Michael Melchior, Chicago, and Jacob Melchior, 1516 E. 6th; three sisters, Mrs. Mary M. Schwerdt, 1610 Buchanan, Mrs. Ann Mermis, Gorham, and Mrs. Barbara Porubsky, 236 Quinton, and four grandchildren.

Services will be announced by Brennan Funeral Home.
