Mrs. Catherine Beier, 57, RFD No. 6 North Topeka died Saturday afternoon in a local hospital. Born in Russia May 4, 1893, she came to the United States and Topeka 56 years ago. She was a member of St. Joseph Church and the Altar Society.

She is survived by her husband, George of the home; five daughters, Mrs. Henry Hawkins and Mrs. Sophia Rolsing of Topeka, Sister Mary Loretta, St. Marys, and Martha and Mary Ann of the home. Also surviving are six sons, Victor and the Rev. Henry Beier, Kansas City, Kan., Leo, Kansas City, Mo., Bernard, Marrloro, N.Y., and Carl, John and George of the home.

She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and six brothers, P.J., George P., John, Jacob and Joseph Melchoir, all of Topeka, and Michael Melchior, Chicago. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Mary Schwerdt and Mrs. Barabara Porubsky of Topeka, and Mrs. Anna Mermis, Gorham, Kan. Mrs. Beier is also survived by her mother Mrs. Catherine Melchior of Topeka.
