MITCHELL - Carl Weinmaster, 85, died Tuesday, July 2, 2007, at the Mitchell Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m., Friday, July 27, at St. paul's Church in Mitchell with Reverend Richard Reisig officiating. Cremation will be held at the Jolliffe Funeral Home Crematory following the funeral and a private family inurnment will be held at the Mitchell City Cemtery.
Friends who wish may call at the Jones Mortuary Thursday at 10 a. m. to 7 p. m., and at the funeral. A memorial has been established to the church.
Carl was born Sept. 16, 1921 at Alt, Colo. to Jake J. and Freda (Kanzler) Weinmaster. At an early age he moved with his family to the south Morrill area where he grew up and attended school. He married pauline Irene Ault Oct. 11, 1941 in Harrisburg. They moved to Cozad where he farmed until his wife's sudden death. He then moved back to the valley where he raised his five sons and worked for Jirdon Agriculture until his retirement. He also was remarried to Helen Weis in Scottsbluff.
He was a lifetime member of he church, and was an associate member of the American Legion in Mitchell.
Survivors include his sons, Bill D. (Rashell) Weinmaster of Morrill, Jim C.. (Karen) Weinmaster of Cozad, Terry L. Weinmaster of Scottsbluff, Glen D. Weinmaster of Rock Springs, Wyo., and Kirk D. (Diana) Weinmaster of Mitchell; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jake (Janet) Weinmaster of Morrill, and Rex Weinmaster of Hoffman, Minn.; sisters, Helen (Dave) Kuhlman of Kimball, Mildred (John) Schledewitz of Gothenburg, Elsie Mason of Milton-Freewater, Ore., Barbara Steffenson of Gering, Delores Sell of Phoenix, Ariz., and Sharon (Ron) Dinnel of Scottsbluff; sisters-in-law, Esther Weinmaster of Gering, Cindy Weinmaster of Scottsbluff, and Irene Weinmaaster of Milton-Freewater, Ore. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; son, Larry; brothers, Elmer, Henry, and Delbert; sister, Dorothy Weinmaster; step-sister [half-sister] Martha Kuhlman, and sister-in-law, Ruth Weinmaster.
