J.J. was born 14 Oct 1896 in Dittel, Russia, son of Jacob and Eva (Koch) Weinmaster and came with his parents in 1906, arriving in Galveston, TX. They moved to Windsor, CO. He married Freda Kanzler on 29 Apr 1920 in Fort Collins, CO. The family moved to Scotts Bluff Co. in 1929. He has farmed in various communities. He retired in 1964 and has lived at the Morrill Manor apartments.
Since age 16 he has been deaf, but married, raised 13 children, losing an infant daughter, gained his US Citizenship in 1941 and farmed all his life.
Charter member of St. Paul's Church in Mitchell.
Survivors include 5 sons, Elmer of Gering, Carl and Jake both of Morrill, Rex of Parker Prairie, MN, Delbert of Scottsbluff; 7 daughters, Helen Kuhlman of Kimball, Mildred Schledewitz of Maxwell, Elsie Mason of Milton-Freewater, OR, Barbara Steffensen of Pacific Junction, IA, Delores Sell of Phoenix, AZ, Sheron Dinnel of Scottsbluff, Marth Kuhlman of Burton, MI (note-stepdaughter); 1 brother, Manual of Morrill, ; 2 sister, Elizabeth Weinmaster of Morrill, Hanna Johannes of Gering; 35 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren.
