At the beginning of the 18th century the family Ott came from Germany to Russia. They were one of the first German settlers in Saratov region. Then they moved to Zhytomyr in Volhynia Government, Russia, now Ukraine.

1893 Heinrich married Amalia Makus in Zhytomyr, Volhynia Government.
They had 3 children: Olga, Ferdinand and Anna.

1908 he immigrated to his parents-in-law in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. They also paid his ticket in the hope that the whole Amalie's family will come over afterwards. Heinrich accompanies his nephew Emil Ott Memorial ID 184663847 on the ship "Bremen". Ship "Bremen" commuted from Bremen, Germany via Halifax, Canda to Ellis Island, NY, USA. 9 Jun 1908 Heinrich arrives in Halifax. Emil Ott continues to NY.

First time Heinrich lived by his parents-in-law Gottfried and Anna Dorothea Makus.

1909 he moved to Winnipeg and worked as a laborer. He had only one eye and was bald.

1911 the son Ferdinand immigrated with friend family Roloff to Menno, Hutchinson, S.D., USA.

The families lose sight of each other. In Russia were a great political unrest.

1915 daughter Anna married Reinhold Schulz. In the same year, all are forcibly expelled from Volhynia and deported to Volga-Germans-Republic in Russia nearly Saratov. The hope for a family fusion disappears definitively.

Nov 1919 Heinrich visited his son Ferdinand in Menno, South Dakota. Together they travel to St. Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota to visit the relatives of Ott.

1920 Heinrich returns to Winnipeg.

1922 he moved to Ferdinand to Menno. He became naturalized in Canada and comes to USA as a Canadian.

Then he moved to Milwaukee looking for the better job.

Heinrich died 23 May 1927 of a cerebral spinnal menningitis in Milwaukee. His grave is unknown.
