Julia Alaniz Garcia passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 in Katy, Texas. She was born to Augustin and Guadalupe Gonzalez Alaniz On March 15, 1931 in Blessing, Texas.

In 1955 Julia married the love of her life, Richard G. Garcia, a U.S. Army Veteran and together created three children, Son(s), Joe, David, and daughter, Linda.  Julia loved dancing to her country music anytime, anywhere! She was a proud member of Iglesia Faro de Luz, where she had many friends. She enjoyed eating fried catfish and turkey legs every thanksgiving. 

Julia is preceded in death by her loving husband of over 60 years, Richard Garcia. Also by her siblings: Henry Matt, Augustin, Louie, Joe, Concepcion Alaniz, and Eliza Rodriguez.

She is survived by many family members; Children and their spouses: Joe Garcia (Angela), David Garcia (Diana), Linda Lamotte (Owen).
Siblings: Guadalupe Cano, Lucy Parr, and Teofillo Alaniz. Grandchildren: Brandi, Cynthia, Gilbert, Melissa, Gregory, and James. She is also survived by 10 Great-grandchildren, and 1 Great Great-grandchild, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.

Julia will be laid to eternal rest with her late husband at Houston National Cemetery. 

Many thanks to the staff at the Houston Methodist Hospital for the continuous care day and night.

In Lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Iglesia Faro de Luz, Houston Methodist Hospital, or a Facility of your choice.
