Clara Elizabeth Schaps was the eldest daughter of Joseph Fabeck and Elizabeth Fabeck Woepkenberg,born in Freeport, Minnesota on November 4, 1893. She married Peter J Schaps, in Albany, Minnesota, and became the mother of 7 children, Roman, Joseph, Ralph, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Mary Ann, Edwin. Clara's husband, Peter, left her to raise the children alone after being severely burned in a house fire.
Clara became very ill and died young of a broken hearted on May 8, 1937, at the of 44 years, in West St. Paul, Minnesota, she is buried in the Calvary Catholic cemetery, St. Paul, Minnesota.
