Mary Jane Michalik Tedder, 88, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016, in Katy, Texas, due to complications with pneumonia.

She was born on August 20, 1928 in Gervis, Oregon to John and Aurelia Michalik.

She is survived by her sons, John Marshall Tedder and wife Kathy of Joshua, Donald Ray Tedder and wife Janet of Ormond Beach, FL; daughter, Katherine Tedder Dietrich and husband Hadden of Katy; sisters, Dorothy George of Lumberton, Lucy Henderson of Pearland and Agnes Winans of Channelview; brothers, John Michalik and wife Sylvia of Round Rock, Edward Michalik and wife Elaine of Pasadena, Paul Michalik and wife Vickie of Port Lavaca, Charles Michalik and wife Dianna of Palacios, Raymond Michalik and wife Peggy of Brazoria, and Frank Michalik and wife Evelyn of El Maton; grandchildren, Michelle, Jennifer and Marshall Tedder, Zachary David Dietrich of McKinney, and Shelby Dietrich Vinson and husband Richard of Midlothian; along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Aurelia Michalik; and her brother, James Michalik.

Jane loved to cook, sew and garden, as well as being in the outdoors. She was very outgoing and loved her new home at Colonial Oaks, where she made many new friends and enjoyed all of the activities.

We would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at Colonial Oaks Assisted Living in Katy, Vantage Hospice, as well as Rose’s Retreat, where she spent her final days.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 11 a.m., at Schmidt Funeral Home, 1344 W. Grand Parkway, Katy, Texas.
