Alexander (Lexie) Dotz, 81, of 2014 S. 13th St., died Thursday afternoon at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for five days.
He was born Jan. 10, 1902, at Enders, Russia, a son of Phillip and Dora Hardt Dotz. In 1909 he came to Sheboygan with his family and attended Trinity Lutheran School.
On Oct. 23, 1920, he married Lydia Nikisch at Trinity Lutheran Church parsonage. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1980.
Mr. Dotz was employed at the Vollrath Co. for 15 years prior to retirement in 1967. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, the Volga Aid Society and the Sheboygan Oldtimers' Baseball Association.
Survivors are his wife; two sons, Arthur C. and Robert A.; and a daughter, Mrs. James (Audrey) Peterson, all of Sheboygan; four granddaughters and a great-grandson; a sister, Mrs. Mary Oehlberg of Sheboygan; and a brother, Christ Dotz of El Paso, Texas.
Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at 1.30 p.m. Monday at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. The Rev. Robert F. Stellwagen, pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, will officiate. Entombment will be in Garden Terrace Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral chapel after 4 p.m. Sunday and until the time of services on Monday. A memorial fund has been established In Mr. Dotz's name.
