Cleo "Hoover" Maynard, 76, of Lenore, WV., passed away Sunday, September 14, 2003, at his residence.

Born May 30, 1927, in Naugatuck, WV., to the late Pete and Fannie (Evans) Maynard, he was a retired foreman for the West Virginia Department of Highways.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vicie Lee Maynard; brothers, Sam, Cecil, Jay, John and Willie Maynard; sisters, Betty Brinager, Alice Runyon and Edna Belle Evans.

Surviving are his sons, Carlos (Tammy) Maynard of Lenore, WV,, John (Kim) Maynard of Lenore, WV., Pete Maynard of Lenore, WV., Raymond (Maggie) Maynard of Lenore, WV., and Bill (Jean) Parsley of Lenore., WV; daughters, Carlene (Harold) Davis of Lenore, WV., and Ruby Brewer of Lenore, WV.; brothers, H.P. Maynard of Naugatuck, WV., and Oscar Maynard of Racine, OH.; sisters, Lottie Marcum of Naugatuck, WV., and Ethel Maynard of Boisservaine, VA.; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a host of nephews and nieces. Interment will follow at Newsome Ridge Cemetery at Naugatuck, WV., Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
